One of the nine muses in ancient Greece, Melpomene is the counterpart to her sister Thalia, who is the Muse of Comedy. Melpomene was the protector of Tragedy; she invented tragedy, rhetoric speech and Melos. Created as one of nine sisters, this work is created with an exploration of palette knife to bring out energy and expression inspired by the muses.
